Subscription costs for Letterbox Club 2010

The cost per child to participate in Letterbox Club remained at the 2009 cost of £115 (inc. VAT).

Getting Started - What You Need To Do:

>Identify eligible children within your local authority that you wish to enrol and establish how many of those children you want to sign up for Letterbox Blue, Red and White (Letterbox Extra).

>Create a Letterbox Club database for your participating children in order to administer the Letterbox Club from your local authority. This database should have the names of the children enrolled, current addresses, blue/red/white (Extra), maths level from school records (or your own assessment).

>Appoint someone from the LACE team to be the Letterbox Club administrator, who will liaise with the Letterbox Club team in London to coordinate numbers of parcels, delivery and dispatch, personalise each Letterbox Club parcel by adding in the maths game at the child's own level and personally addressing the child letter for each parcel.

>Appoint a senior staff member to oversee assessment and evaluation for your cohort of children. Also, write to carers/schools as appropriate (template supplied by email).
NB Assessment is an essential part of Letterbox Club.

What We Will Do:

>Deliver your order of Letterbox parcels in three batches - May/June, July/August and September/October. The parcels will arrive unsealed and pre-packed with the selected books and stationery items for each month.

>Supply the necessary maths games to you at Curriculum levels 1-4 (as copymasters and as hard copy, if requested).

>Supply template letters electronically for carers and schools, to be amended and sent out by local authorities as required.

>Supply template letters electronically for the children to be personalised and included in each parcel.

>Supply additional author/illustrator letters for inclusion.

>Provide ongoing support from the Letterbox team based at Booktrust, for general queries and assessment and evaluation advice.
